Our History

2008

City Wide CDC

2006

Wishing to expand the organization’s mission to include housing for women, veterans, and the homeless, the board of directors hired Sherman Roberts in July 2006 as its new president and chief executive officer. With a proven track record of providing affordable housing and social programs to families and individuals with low to very low income, Mr. Roberts has raised in excess of $30 million in operating and development funds and leveraged millions in development loans since that time.

2003

By 2003, the organization had acquired two apartment complexes in the southeast area of Dallas. City Wide CDC performed major rehabilitation on the apartments and provided a range of tenant services including a literacy program and children’s summer camp. The two apartment complexes were subsequently sold.

2001

Dedicated to revitalizing neighborhoods through providing affordable housing and other services, City Wide Community Development Corporation received its 501 (c)(3) determination from the Internal Revenue Service in 2001.
